Last summer — on my birthday, no less — Valerie Muren and I had our second photo shoot together. Instead of the indoor boudoir shoot we did the first time we met, we took advantage of the warm weather and hit the beach. Toronto had been hit by severe spring and summer flooding for the second summer in a row, so much of the beach area I usually use was underwater (see the submerged fence below). That also meant a higher concentration of people using what little beach was left, including a couple sketchy looking people living in a tent, who watched our photo shoot intently. We also found a stray sausage on the ground. True story. Unexpected. The mosquitoes were out in full force this particular evening, so I came home with some rather big welts in addition to many great photos.
