LEAH X VTOGRAPHY

750_4000-edit

I first met Leah nearly 10 years ago when she was working at Hooters, yet we never arranged a photo shoot. Until now! At 28 years old, Leah told me she’s gotten “progressively better looking” so maybe it’s for the best we didn’t arrange anything all those years ago. 😛

We got together on Halloween for our photo shoot (Leah’s first, BTW), and in the week leading up to it I was pleasantly surprised to see so much fall colour still lingering. While about half the trees were bare, there were still ample red, yellow, and orange tones around to make for some nice backdrops in forest environments. I picked the Twyn Rivers area of the exhaustive Rouge Park, on the border of Toronto and Pickering. It’s literally on the border — the parking lot is between the two signs welcoming you to each city.

With 50 square kilometres of parkland, Rouge Park is the largest nature park within the core of a metropolitan area in North America. Near the Twyn Rivers area, the remains of an old dam are still visible in the Little Rouge Creek. In the 1950s, a hotel in the valley was a popular vacation spot and the river was dammed for swimming. Thanks, Wikipedia!

As is my norm lately, I traveled super light, with one camera (the best all around full frame DSLR, the Nikon D750 FX DSLR Camera), one lens (Nikon 70-200mm FX ƒ/2.8G ED VR II AF-S Zoom Lens), a backpack (the extremely comfortable Lowepro Transit Backpack 350 AW), and a few wardrobe items. Leah wore two items I brought from Forever 21: a lace bralette and my favourite sheer black bodysuit. We mixed and matched with her turtleneck bodysuit, leather jacket, and chokers.

Shooting in the late afternoon, the low sun and slightly hazy sky provided some nice diffused light and a warm glow among the autumn foliage.
