Emily and I didn’t necessarily pick the best day for our photo shoot. In the waning days of September — the first day of fall in fact — we headed to the beach on a gloomy but warm evening. It rained a tiny bit but we didn’t let that deter us. We went with a more subdued tone for most of these images to match the weather. No bright colours or flashy outfits.
Emily had been in front of the camera before (a Hooters calendar of all things), but not so much lately, so she wasn’t too sure about how she’d do. She was a natural once she hopped in Lake Ontario — it wasn’t even that cold!
On the equipment front, I kept things simple as always, using the Nikon 50mm FX ƒ/1.4G AF-S Lens for the majority of these images. My Lowepro Transit Backpack 350 AW proved its worth as an all weather backpack, keeping my gear dry and out of harm’s way while traveling to and from the location.
