Serves me right for trying to a photo shoot in Fort Erie again. You might recall that my last trip there wasn’t without a bit of trouble (rotting fish, dead batteries, and a three hour travel time). This time, driving to Fort Erie again took much longer than I expected, and the wind and sun weren’t exactly cooperating with each other to produce ideal photo shoot conditions. Compounding the issue was the strange family who decided they needed to wade in the lake directly in front of where I’d set up my gear only minutes earlier. No amount of icy glares got them to vacate the space (even though the lake was empty for miles in either direction), so we eventually had to pack up and move a few feet away… at which point they left. What the hell?
Anyway, that brings me to 20-year old Natalie, the model you see below. Does she look familiar? She might, and not because I’ve photographed her before, but because she’s related to one of my favourite models — Justine! It’s true, Natalie and Justine are cousins, and I had the pleasure of meeting Natalie in real life for the first time at Justine’s wedding earlier this summer. Fast forward a couple months and we’re on the beach, doing a photo shoot in Fort Erie, making awesome photos. I love that Natalie looks a little different than the typical person that I shoot (that side shave!) and I look forward to shooting her again. (But don’t worry, Justine, I’ll still photograph you too!)
